Commonly, it can be found as the result of leakage of alkaline batteries. Potassium carbonate is a potassium salt of carbonic acid. This salt consists of potassium cations K+  and carbonate anions CO2−3, and is therefore an alkali metal carbonate.Potassium Carbonate Anhydrous 99% Extra Pure (K2CO3) is a white, hygroscopic, and deliquescent solid with a purity of at least 99%. It is commonly used in various applications, including organic synthesis, as a buffering agent in winemaking, and in the production of certain pharmaceuticals and fertilizers.
